In my video about the 4e GSL, I go into great detail about how that license works and what content is included. I regularly find that I am walking a line between what the license allows and what I want to do. I sometimes need to get creative to avoid conflicts.
If you want to hear about some of the challenges I’ve run into while working on 4e content, check out this video on my YouTube channel.
As a result of the assorted license restrictions, creating my 4e content is taking longer than hoped. But, do not despair, I have some preview content for you.
Below are a few stat blocks for monsters I am working on for my Creature Compendium.
Kobolds
The Kobold Scrapper is for your up close and personal attacks. It deals extra damage when it has the upper hand and when it has friends nearby.
The Kobold Archer likes to stay far away from the fray. Mobility is its ally and it gains a bonus when it attacks after movement.
Fire Zealots
Worshippers of fire are faithful, if misguided. The Fire Zealot Thug is the wall that protects their allies.
The Fire Zealot Archer can deal some serious damage when it chooses to use its Flaming Burst ability.
I have many other monsters I am working on, though no timeline for when I will be ready to release them. I will keep everyone updated.
I would love to get your feedback?

I like how the stat block is laid out I would have no trouble using these for 4e. You aren’t copying their stats or anything & it’s not like you are trying to publish your own fantasy RPG using this stuff. You are just trying to make a module adventure for use with their game system. Seems like exactly what the licensing agreement is designed for but I too am no lawyer so glad you did your research!!
