One of my goals for the past few years has been to publish an adventure module every single month. And by the end of every year, I find myself lamenting that I failed to do so.
Well, this year I intend to slay this beast once and for all.
With the launch of Dungeon Lore, I have thrown my proverbial hat over the wall and must now deliver on the promise. It will not be easy, but creating encounters is my favorite part of playing Dungeons and Dragons, so I look forward to the work.
I am currently putting the finishing touches on the February issue that will take adventurers to the first level of The Mine of Kashtel Gale.
While the first issue of the magazine had the party exploring the surface town, this issue will launch the actual dungeon crawling part of this dungeon crawl. There will be three encounters for 2nd-level characters.
Much like the 4e Dungeon Delve book, these encounters are not meant to represent a full adventure module all on their own, but rather serve as a set of connected side quests for a party.
The encounters in this next issue were actually meant to be part of the first issue, and for 1st-level characters, so I am in the process of reworking them to be better suited for a party of 2nd-level. I am also introducing a new optional rule that helps bring back something that I miss from 4th edition.
I am loving the exercise of putting these encounters together. I would love to hear your feedback on what kinds of encounters you would like to see in future issues.
